Category Archives: rain

It was rainy two nights ago and as I was leaving work, in my frustration over perpetual darkness, I pulled my D80 out of my bag and decided to see what I could come up with. I keep it in my work bag just in case …. 😛
The lot was pretty empty as it was around 7:30 pm though a couple of passers-by wondered at the odd sight. My Sigma 50-150mm is not large but with a MFD of more than a meter, I had to strain to get any semblence of focus on the rainy windshield. Add that the stupid rearview mirror was in the way and it resulted in some very contorted photography! ;D
I’m posting this more out of desperation than anything because I just haven’t been able to get out this week. Here’s another contorto-shot … not any sharper though. The post work on this was also not as simple as I expected. The windows had become a bit foggy so I played with curves and adjusted colors hoping it would suddenly ‘pop’ … but alas, not to be. I do enjoy the post work though … don’t you agree!? Bringing an otherwise dead image to life. More often than not, for me, it ends up like an over-seasoned piece of venison … gamey and chewy … ewwww.
The blog for today is just amazing. Most of you guys probably already know him – Mitchell Kanashkevich. Incredibly vibrant and alive. Luminous!

On a different note, I’m having a crisis of indecision!!!!!!! I’ve been pestering everyone I know to help me decide on my next lens purchase. Knowing that it will be one that I will need to live with for another half year or so and being that there are so many good choices, I’m completely immobilized … O.o

I will ultimately get a fast normal, a macro and an ultrawide. I think I have the macro narrowed down to the nikkor 105mm VR. But do I wait and get that later or now!?! If later, then also on my possibles list is – Sigma 50mm f/1.8, Sigma 20mm f/1.8, Nikon 50mm f/1.4 and Nikon 24mm f/2.8. Andreas says that if he could only have one … it would be the Sigma 50mm. Hmmmmmmm

Peace ;D
